SHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (August 13, 2013) – The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Red Tail Squadron will visit the Clarion County Airport to speak with local youth and be a part of the Airport’s Open House on August 16-17, 2013; the Squadron will also perform an aerial demonstration on Friday at 7:30 p.m. for youth attendees and again at 10:00 a.m. during the Open House celebration on Saturday.

Clarion County Airport, in partnership with local businesses, civic organizations, and Clarion University is hosting the visit to the airport and will include a flight demonstration by one of only four remaining operational P-51C Mustangs. It is highly recognizable because of its bright red tail and signifies the story of the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. The CAF Red Tail Squadron P-51C Mustang is scheduled to arrive at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16 and will be on display for area youth at 7:30 p.m. in the large hangar at the airport. Any young person interested in aviation is encouraged to attend the program, which will last about two hours.

On Saturday, August 17, Clarion County Airport will host its annual Open House in celebration of National Aviation Day. The flight demonstration of the Red Tail P-51C Mustang will be at 10:00 a.m. and will depart the airport at noon.
