Event: 4th Annual Salute to Military Service
Location: Kemah Boardwalk, Houston, Texas
Attendance: Over 8,000spectators

The 4th Annual Salute to Military Service was hosted by the Kemah Boardwalk and the City of Kemah. In working with the Texas Chapter of the Children of the Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, they brought over 90 wounded veterans and their families to enjoy free entertainment, food, and amusement rides on the Kemah Boardwalk.

The CAF Red Tail Squadron’s RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit was prominently displayed along with other military exhibits. The theater welcomed guests on Saturday from noon to 8:00 pm. The Buffalo Soldiers conducted a re-enactment and the festivities included an all Veterans Parachute Jump Team.

There were several published articles which encouraged visitors to come out and see the RISE ABOVE movie on Saturday. This event was also promoted on their web site.

Educational Outreach Visits – The RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit was at Benjamin O Davis Jr. High School on Tuesday and Wednesday showing the RISE ABOVE movie to the high school students. Over 767 students enjoyed their RISE ABOVE Experience and received their inspirational dog tags.
