From the icy cold of Minnesota, winter home of our exhibit and hangar of the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s “Tuskegee Airmen” P-51C Mustang, comes an exciting announcement. We’re headed out to spread our inspirational message in sunny southern California!

With the generous donations collected by local chapters of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. and the hard work of Dr. Alan Cummings visiting groups and spreading the word, the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit will soon be on its way to several stops in California. Dr. Cummings is the president of the Buford A. Johnson Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. and has been a fervent champion of our mission. It is his determination and hard work that has made this exciting west coast tour possible.

Just around the corner on February 14th and 15th, we’ll kick off our tour at the Palm Springs Air Museum of Flying as part of their tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen titled “Beyond the Call of Duty: African Americans in Uniform during WWII From the Tuskegee Airmen to the Buffalo Soldiers.” In attendance on Saturday’s event will be several original members of the Tuskegee Airmen.  We’re proud to bring our RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit to this wonderful tribute.

We’re also excited to be bringing our exhibit to San Diego during the last two weeks of February, where we’ll be sharing the inspirational message of RISE ABOVE to several local schools. Some of these events will have times allocated for public admission to the exhibit. Visit our calendar to find a location near you in San Diego. Educational outreach visits are a fulfilling and meaningful component of the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s mission. We’ll hit the road again and head north towards San Bernadino for a stop in Moreno Valley March 3rd – 7th where we will have our exhibit open to the public Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A big thank you to Moreno Valley Unified School teacher Marie White for her tireless efforts to secure funding for this entertaining and education experience for the local community and students.

But our P-51C Mustang will make the trek to Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ to participate in the 2014 Lighting in the Desert open house and air show! CAF Red Tail Squadron pilot Doug Rozendaal will fly his acrobatic routine and wow the audience at this exciting event that is FREE and open to the public. Please come out to see us and say hello!

As always, keep an eye on our events calendar to keep up to date on our events coming to a location near you!
