Calling all families and aviation enthusiasts in the Detroit area! Join us Wednesday June 25 through Friday June 27 at Focus: HOPE to see our RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit. The FREE event is open 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at the Focus: HOPE campus, located at 1355 Oakman Boulevard in Detroit.

Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson takes time to encourage a young fan.

Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson takes time to encourage a young fan.

Each day of the event will feature visits by original members of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first black military pilots and their support personnel. Their success in triumphing over adversity during WWII can still inspire people of all ages to rise above obstacles they may face. This is an extraordinary opportunity to meet a living legend in person and hear their dramatic first-hand account of serving our country.

This free exhibit includes the original film RISE ABOVE in our panoramic mobile theater. Step inside and you are immersed in the experience that highlights the courage and determination of the Tuskegee Airmen, who overcame obstacles to train and fight as U.S. Army Air Corps pilots, and what it means to us 60 years later.

The event is made possible by Detroit’s own Focus: HOPE. Founded 45 years ago, the organization is dedicated to intelligent and practical solutions to the problems of hunger, economic disparity, inadequate education, and racial divisiveness.

Want to arrange a special viewing for your community group or organization? There’s still time to reserve your slot! Contact Focus: HOPE at 313-494-5500 to secure one of the limited spots for your group.

See you in Detroit!
