Tuskegee Airmen Harold Brown speaking to students in Red Wing, MN

Original Tuskegee Airman pilot Dr. Harold Brown kicked off a speaking tour in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area today here in Red Wing, Minnesota, home base of the CAF Red Tail Squadron!

Dr. Brown has been a tireless supporter of our efforts to inspire people of all ages with the history and lessons of the Tuskegee Airmen. He is a frequent special guest at our events and has guided our organization on the best ways to share the history of the Tuskegee Airmen to audiences around the country. We are enormously grateful for his time and energy and jump at the chance to partner with him any time we can!

He started the day at Red Wing High School inspiring students by sharing his experience as a Tuskegee Airmen, and imparting life lessons that can encourage young people to rise above their own challenges and achieve success.

RWHS students get to meet history in person

RWHS Principal Todd Herber and Dr. Harold Brown

Tonight, Dr. Brown and his wife, Dr. Marsha Bordner, will also share these important lessons at a FREE community event at Red Wing’s Sheldon Theater at 6:30 p.m. Together, they authored the book “Keep Your Airspeed Up: The Story of a Tuskegee Airman.” All are welcome to attend, learn more and pick up an autographed copy of this inspirational new book.

The story Dr. Brown has to share is as relevant today as it was all those years ago. His narrative is one of overcoming adversity to achieve success, even with the odds stacked against you. We are honored to welcome him to our hometown and partner with him to share this important piece of history…. and inspire our community to RISE ABOVE!

The CAF Red Tail Squadron is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to educating audiences across the country about the history and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first black military pilots and their support personnel. Learn more at www.redtail.org.
