A “hometown” honor for the aviation documentary film Rise Above: WASP has been selected to be screened during 2020 Topaz Film Festival. The Commemorative Air Force partnered with Hemlock Films to produce the new film for the CAF RISE ABOVE education outreach program. The Topaz Film Festival is presented by Women in Film Dallas. Much of Rise Above: WASP was filmed in Texas where the actual WASP were trained during World War II.

Rise Above: WASP explores the history of the World War II veterans known as the WASP (Women AirForce Service Pilots). Designed for the CAF’s immersive 170 degree wrap-around screen, the film envelopes the viewer in its custom made theater. The WASP were the first women to fly for the United States Armed Forces. While not permitted in combat, these high spirited women broke barriers to serve their country and fulfill their dreams….to fly!

Hemlock Films is a full service film production company based in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in historical storytelling.
