1944, January 27
Capt Clarence C. Jamison, while leading a formation of 16 fighters of the 99FS, spotted 15 FW-190s dive-bombing shipping off St. Peter’s Beach near Anzio. During the ensuing engagement, 10 members of the 99th shot down a total of 10 enemy airplanes. The victors included 2nd Lt Clarence W. Allen (.5 credits).
All of the downed aircraft were Germana FW-190s.

1944, June 14
The 332GG escorted B-17 and B-24 bombers on a mission to the Budapest area of Hungary. Lt C.W. Allen went missing on a dive-bombing mission. He returned two days later after evading the enemy.

1944, August 14
During a strafing anf fighter sweep mission in the Toulon area Lt. Allen was reported to have bailed out safely over the island of Elba.
