Marjorie was born in Ionia, MI on February 4, 1914, to Arthur and Mary Schaeffer Johnson.
Marjorie was raised in the Belding area and graduated from Belding High School in 1932. She then attended Michigan State University. Marjorie later attended flight school and became a pilot and pilot instructor. She became a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Service Pilots (WASP) during World War II where she flew many missions. After the war she enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. She operated the Belding Airport during and after World War II. In the early 1950’s Marjorie moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she owned and operated her own flower shop. In 1996 she moved to Fort Myers.
