The dedication and unveiling of this Nation’s first African American Veterans Monument is scheduled for September 24, 2022.  This Monument honors the service and sacrifice of African American Veterans who served in all the Nation’s wars and during peace time.

The Monument will be located in Buffalo, New York at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park.  The design of the Monument features 12 black concrete pillars symbolizing the Revolutionary War to the War on Afghanistan.  The building of the Monument represents the integrity, strength, and resilience of African Americans from every branch of service who fought in each of the 12 campaigns.   The walkway will include commemorative brick pavers that can be purchased to honor an African American Veteran.
