Tuskegee Airman pilot Lt Col Clarence Shivers, an artist and career Air Force pilot, created this life size “Tuskegee Airmen of World War II” statue that was unveiled in 1998 on the grounds of the United States Air Force Academy. The piece was commissioned by the Denver-based Hubert L. “Hooks” Jones chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. in 1985.
