2014-airexpo-logo_v2We are coming home to Wings of the North’s AirExpo at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie this weekend and it is your ONE chance to see us in Minnesota!

Like you – our fellow dear Minnesotans – the CAF Red Tail Squadron was born and bred right here in Minnesota. We spend A LOT of time out on the road, bringing our message of inspiration and sharing the story of the Tuskegee Airmen all over the United States. The AirExpo is our homecoming and we want to see YOU there! Lt Col Harold Brown (USAF Ret), Tuskegee Airman and native Minnesotan, will also join us on Saturday. Come by and meet this living legend – and fervent supporter of the CAF Red Tail Squadron!

We’re participating in the AirExpo on the heels of our appearance at the Minnesota State Capital as part of the “Minnesota Summer of Civil Rights – Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act” with MnDOT’s Office of Aeronautics and African American Employee Resource Group. These two events are truly our tribute to our home state and we hope that you can join us!

The AirExpo will take place Saturday July 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday July 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We will have our RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit that will be FREE with air show admission as well as our P-51C Mustang, the Tuskegee Airmen, which will perform in the air show daily and be on static display for you to get an up close and personal look at the iconic aircraft of the Tuskegee Airmen and WWII.

Not satisfied by the P-51C on the ground? We are pleased to report that we will be offering rides in the aircraft! Those interested in purchasing a trip of a lifetime in a fully-restored WWII-era warbird can reserve their spot by contacting Marvona Welsh, CAF Red Tail Squadron Logistics Coordinator, at (812) 240-2540 or marvona@redtail.org.

This year’s Wings of the North AirExpo promises to be a fantastic event for aviation enthusiasts of all ages. Come share your Minnesota pride with us as we set out to RISE ABOVE and share our inspirational message with our friends and neighbors right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes!
