Dates:       July 25-27, 2014
Event:       Thunder Over Utah
Location:  Saint George, Utah

Terry Hollis, Brad Lang, Jeanette Hollis, Michael Biehn, Clarence Gilyard with son Peter.

The CAF Red Tail Squadron participated in the Thunder Over Utah Airshow in St. George this past weekend. The crowd size was over 32,000. The weather was very hot and windy (98-104 degrees).

Although the Blue Angels were the featured headliners the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit enjoyed long lines on both Saturday and Sunday. This was particularly gratifying given the very hot weather conditions throughout the weekend. Our total for the weekend included 1517 individuals (926 adults, 591 kids). This was outstanding!

A monsoonal weather pattern was present throughout the weekend. On Saturday some of the performers were not able to fly as a result of lightning, high winds and surrounding thunderstorms.

Our P-51C Mustang performed in the WWII battle reenactment as well as aerobatic demonstration. The crowd was very enthusiastic.

Actor/professor (UNLV) Clarence Gilyard stopped by to say hello and was an honored guest of the Thunder Over Utah airshow. Clarence stopped by to see the CAF Red Tail Squadron during the Nellis AFB airshow a few years ago.

CAF Red Tail Squadron personnel for the Thunder Over Utah airshow included Terry and Jeanette Hollis, Brad Lang and Michael Biehn. Michael Beihn’s presence was invaluable and greatly appreciated. Everyone did a great job in very challenging weather conditions.
