Senior Friendship Centers honored veterans during a week-long celebration in Sarasota, Florida. The Friendship Center partnered with Legacy of Valor and created numerous veteran activities. The CAF Red Tail Squadron was honored to participate in the salute to veterans at the R.L. Taylor Community Complex beginning on Monday through Friday.

Vice Mayor Willie Shaw and Tuskegee Airman, Lt. Col. George Hardy were on hand to kick off the celebration, as part of the “Legacy of Valor” campaign. The RISE ABOVE movie was shown to a full house from Monday through Friday. Throughout the week, Lt Col. George Hardy greeted the students and shared his message of inspiration.

There were several interviews and articles which encouraged visitors to come out and see the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit.

Educational Outreach Visits – Jen Riesenberger invited numerous schools to bring their students to the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex. Over 569 students enjoyed their RISE ABOVE Experience and received their inspirational dog tags.
