SSgt Percy Clarence Gary
May 9, 1911 – November 24, 1944

Percy was born in 1911 to Reuben Gary and Rosa Cole. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, was living in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1920, and he was married and living in Philadelphia in 1942. His wife’s name was Edith. He was working with Beck Engraving Company when he registered for the Draft.  Percy attended the Tuskegee Air Pilot Program and was stationed with the 99th Fighter Squadron in Ramitelli, Italy.

There is little known regarding his service nor is his true manner of death are known. SSgt Gary was awarded the Purple Heart and is buried or memorialized at American Cemetery, Sicily-Rome, Italy, Plot G Row 7 Grave 21.
