In honor of Black History Month, this model was built built to recognize the achievements of the Tuskegee Airmen. The 1:48 scale model depicts the P-51C Mustang Ina the Macon Bell flown by Tuskegee Airman Lee Archer. Archer shot down three German Me-109s on October 12, 1944, flew 169 combat missions in World War II, and went on to have a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. He retired with 29 years of service. Archer passed away in 2010 at the age of 90.

The finished model was presented to the Black Employee Network at American Express.
