Through the support of local community sponsors and volunteers, The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) RISE ABOVE educational outreach program is proud to announce that their unique tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen and the WASPs (Women Air Force Service Pilots), is coming to the Vicksburg, Warren County, MS & the Tallulah, Madison Parish, LA area October 11 – 15, 2023, and will be offered FREE to local schools, groups, families an individuals interested in coming to see it! Members of the community will invited to see two, free 15 minute RISE ABOVE movies that tell the stories of the Tuskegee Airmen and the WASPs, as well as, the obstacles they overcame to be able to fly and flight for their country during WWII. The films inspire children in particular, to reach beyond their grasp to attain new levels of achievement, just like these pilots did. Students and community members, in pre-scheduled groups, will also receive a free inspirational dog tag that features the six guiding principles of the CAF RISE ABOVE educational program. These principles reflect how the Tuskegee Airmen and WASPs of WWII, rose above all of the obstacles they faced in order to fly and fight for America. The dog tags read: AIM HIGH-BELIEVE IN YOURSELF-USE YOUR BRAIN-NEVER QUIT-BE READY to GO- EXPECT TO WIN! RESERVATIONS are REQUIRED due to the limited seating of the theater and times available for viewing. The RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit is being hosted by the Southern Heritage Air Foundation located at the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport.
